The Placita de Flórez is a traditional market square in the center of Medellín, recognizable by its three-level structure and the constant presence of fresh flowers. Founded on January twenty-fifth, eighteen ninety-one, the site occupies land donated by Rafael Flórez. Despite the common confusion caused by its name, it honors his surname rather than the blossoms sold inside.
