The Place de la Solidarité is defined by a massive stainless steel sculpture sitting at the center of its roundabout. This structure, which weighs over ten tons and is composed of three thousand individual pieces, is a geometric representation of a Möbius strip. While the artist, Marco Slinckaert, designed it to symbolize an infinite chain of solidarity, locals frequently refer to the sculpture as the serpent or the Loch Ness monster.
