The Théâtre L'Echangeur occupies a series of former sewing workshops, distinguished from the surrounding industrial landscape by a history of progressive, artist-led rehabilitation. Since nineteen ninety-four, the Public Chéri company has transformed these buildings at fifty-nine avenue du Général-de-Gaulle into a complex that now spans nearly two thousand square meters. The theater site, which sits near the junction of Bagnolet, Paris, and Montreuil, evolved from an initial one hundred and eighty square meters of workspace into a multi-venue facility.
