Jardin du Souvenir

The Jardin du Souvenir within the Père Lachaise Cemetery is identified by the open, green expanse of its scattering lawn, where the ashes of the deceased are returned to the earth. Established by the City of Paris in nineteen eighty-five, this area was the first of its kind in France, designed specifically for those who choose not to have a traditional grave.
