Sainte-Marguerite, Paris

Sainte-Marguerite is identified by a wooden belfry covered in slate and a classical facade marked by four Doric pilasters. Tucked into the eleventh arrondissement at thirty-six Rue Saint-Bernard, the church began as a seventeenth-century chapel to serve the working-class residents of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. Its construction dragged on for over a century, concluding only in seventeen sixty-four.
