The Hôtel de Sully is a Louis thirteen-style mansion recognizable by its courtyard facades, which are decorated with sculpted, mannerist carvings of figures holding helmets. Built between sixteen twenty-four and sixteen thirty, the residence sits at sixty-two rue Saint-Antoine in the Marais district. It was designed to provide a grand private home with both a courtyard and a garden, positioned intentionally to offer a passage toward the Place des Vosges.
