National Museum of Natural History

The Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle occupies a sprawling complex of galleries and research buildings integrated into the Jardin des Plantes. It is distinguished by the Grande Galerie de l’Évolution, an immense iron-and-glass hall where a procession of taxidermy animals—giraffes, elephants, and antelopes—appears to migrate together across the floor.
