Panthéon Centre

The Panthéon is defined by its massive, triple-shelled dome that rises above the Latin Quarter, a silhouette modeled after the great cathedrals of Rome and London. Its Neoclassical façade, marked by a dense row of columns, announces a building of unusual scale and ambition. Commissioned by King Louis the Fifteenth in seventeen forty-four, the structure was originally intended as a church to honor Sainte Geneviève, the patron saint of Paris.
