The Hôtel de Soubise is defined by its grand, curved colonnade that sweeps around the cobblestone courtyard. Built in the early eighteenth century for the Prince and Princess de Soubise, this mansion replaced a fortified manor house from the fourteenth century. Its interiors are celebrated for their Rococo design, featuring gilded carvings, mirrors, and ceiling paintings that represent some of the most intricate decoration from the period.
