Carnavalet Museum

The Carnavalet Museum is easily identified by its pair of Renaissance-style mansions, Hôtel Carnavalet and Hôtel Le Peletier de Saint-Fargeau, which form a historical complex in the heart of the Marais. It serves as the official museum of the history of Paris, holding more than six hundred thousand objects that range from prehistoric artifacts to remnants of the twentieth century.
