The Pont Neuf is the oldest standing bridge in Paris, easily identified by the three hundred and eighty-one stone faces, or mascarons, carved into its sides. While its name means New Bridge, it dates back to sixteen hundred and seven. It crosses the Seine in two sections that meet at the western tip of the Île de la Cité.
