The Maison de Verre, or House of Glass, is recognized by its soaring, three-story façade composed of thousands of translucent glass blocks held within a grid of steel. Built between nineteen twenty-eight and nineteen thirty-two, this residence was designed by furniture designer Pierre Chareau, Dutch architect Bernard Bijvoet, and ironworker Louis Dalbet for Dr. Jean Dalsace and his wife, Annie.
