The most distinctive feature of the Gare de Lyon is the sixty-seven-meter-tall clock tower that rises above the station. Designed by architect Marius Toudoire and completed for the nineteen hundred World Exposition, the tower has four faces and a silhouette that often invites comparison to the clock tower of the Houses of Parliament in London.
