The Grande Mosquée de Paris is distinguished by its thirty-three-meter-high minaret and its Hispano-Moorish architectural style, characterized by sculpted arches and intricate tilework. Located in the fifth arrondissement, this site was inaugurated in July nineteen twenty-six. It was built as a gesture of gratitude following World War One, honoring the more than one hundred thousand Muslim soldiers from French colonies who died fighting for France.
