Atelier des Lumières

The Atelier des Lumières occupies the cavernous, high-ceilinged shell of the former Chemin-Vert foundry. Established in eighteen thirty-five by the Plichon brothers, this site once hummed with the industrial labor of the nineteenth century, producing heavy iron castings for the French navy and railway companies. The factory flourished for over a hundred years before closing in nineteen thirty-five, following the global economic crisis.
