Tour Saint Blaise

The Église Saint-Germain de Charonne stands on a hill, recognizable by its medieval Romanesque bell tower and the rare, attached parish cemetery that has remained here for centuries. This church served as the heart of the independent village of Charonne long before the area was absorbed by Paris in eighteen sixty. Its history traces back to at least the twelfth century, though local tradition claims the site was chosen for a much older meeting in four thirty, when Saint Germain of Auxerre reportedly encountered Saint Geneviève.
