Paradis Latin

The Paradis Latin is marked by a vast, intricate painted cupola that hangs over its main hall, a feature that distinguishes the interior of this cabaret from any other in the city. Located at twenty-eight rue du Cardinal Lemoine, this structure sits directly upon the thirteenth-century stone remains of the Philippe-Auguste wall. Napoleon Bonaparte originally commissioned a theater here in eighteen hundred and two, but fire destroyed that building during the siege of Paris in eighteen seventy.
