Quai Henri IV

The Quai Henri IV is a five-hundred-meter riverfront promenade along the Seine, recognizable by its wide, paved surface that stretches between the Pont de Sully and the Pont d’Austerlitz. It was created in eighteen forty-three by reclaiming land from the former Île Louviers, an island that once sat in the river here. The project merged several older harbor areas into this single, continuous riverside path, officially receiving its royal name the following year.
