Place de l'Odéon

Place de l'Odéon is a semicircular square defined by its sober, neoclassical buildings and the monumental theater that dominates its northern side. Established in seventeen seventy-nine on the site of the former Hôtel de Condé, the square serves as a quiet, stone-paved hub where five streets converge. Its architecture, characterized by uniform, concave-fronted facades, has provided a setting for Parisian intellectual and artistic life for over two centuries.
