La Malmaison

landmark

La Malmaison stands on the Boulevard de la Croisette as an elegant Belle Époque villa, distinguished by its eclectic-baroque architecture. It is the only surviving structure of the original Grand Hôtel, which opened in eighteen sixty-four and was later demolished in the mid-twentieth century. While the rest of the hotel vanished, this seaside pavilion remained, preserving a fragment of the city's nineteenth-century waterfront.
