The Anse de la Batterie des Lions is a narrow pebble cove located on the rocky edge of the Malmousque peninsula in Marseille. Its name marks the site of a military battery established in seventeen fifty-seven on land held by the Portefaix family. While the cannons are gone, the history of this defensive position defines the layout of the small inlet.
