Boni's Windmill

Boni's Windmill stands on Petassos Hill as a massive, circular stone tower painted in a bright, singular white. Built in the sixteenth century during the period of Venetian rule, it was once part of a network of mills that turned the island’s relentless northern winds into the power needed to grind wheat and barley for passing trade ships. While many other island mills were repurposed into homes or hotels, this structure retains its original grinding mechanism, shafts, and millstones.
