View of Alefkandra (Little Venice)

Alefkandra, widely known as Little Venice, is a cluster of two-story houses with colorful wooden balconies that hang directly over the Aegean Sea. Built throughout the eighteenth century by wealthy merchants and sea captains, these homes were designed with basement doors that opened right onto the water, allowing the inhabitants to load and unload their cargo ships with speed.
