Höfði House is a two-story, whitewashed wooden building distinguished by its gabled roof and quiet isolation on the grassy waterfront of Faxaflói Bay. Built in nineteen oh nine, the structure was prefabricated in Norway and originally served as the French consulate in Reykjavík. Its design shows the influence of the Jugendstil architectural style, and it once ranked as the largest private estate in the city.
