Smekkleysa, or Bad Taste, stands out as a compact shop cluttered with Icelandic vinyl, books, and merchandise. Established in nineteen eighty-six by a collective of musicians and poets, the space grew directly from the creative energy of the Icelandic punk scene. The founders named the venture after a manifesto from Pablo Picasso, which claimed that good taste and frugality are the enemies of creativity.
