Dómkirkjan í Reykjavík

Dómkirkjan í Reykjavík is a modest, neoclassical church distinguished by its white walls and a striking green roof. Completed in seventeen eighty-seven and consecrated in seventeen ninety-six, it was one of the first major buildings constructed when Reykjavík began to develop as a capital city. The church serves as the mother institution for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Iceland and remains the seat of the Bishop of Iceland.
