Vampire Mural

The Vampire Mural features a figure with bluish skin and horns clutching a woman, with his mouth pressed to her neck in a pose that mimics blood-letting. It is painted on the side of a building on Laugavegur, a street in central Reykjavík. While it carries a mid-twentieth-century pop art aesthetic that often leads observers to mistake the subject for a vampire, the image actually depicts an undead creature from Icelandic folklore known as a draugur, which is said to drain the will from its victims.
