Jahaz Mahal, or the Ship Palace, is distinguished by its name, which comes from the illusion created when the building is reflected in the waters of the adjacent Hauz-i-Shamsi reservoir. Constructed during the Lodi dynasty between fourteen fifty-one and fifteen twenty-six, the structure features a series of six square chhatris, or domed pavilions, on its roof. These pavilions are each supported by a different number of pillars, ranging from six to twelve.
