Abeno Harukas

landmark

Abeno Harukas is a three hundred meter tall skyscraper in the Abeno ward of Osaka that defines the southern skyline with its massive, stepped glass profile. Completed in March two thousand fourteen, the sixty-story tower was designed as a vertical city to anchor the redevelopment of the Tennoji area. The name itself comes from an ancient Japanese word meaning to brighten or clear up, a reference to the panoramic views available from the top.
