Shinsekai

landmark

Shinsekai is defined by the steel skeleton of Tsutenkaku Tower, which rises above the district with an eight-sided profile inspired by the Eiffel Tower. Created in nineteen twelve, the name Shinsekai means New World, reflecting the original ambition to build a futuristic entertainment hub. Planners modeled the northern half of the district after Paris and the southern section after the amusement parks of Coney Island.
