The National Diet Building is recognized by its massive, symmetrical gray granite facade and a prominent central tower topped with a pyramid-shaped roof. This structure houses the House of Representatives and the House of Councilors, serving as the seat of Japan’s national government. Its construction spanned seventeen years, beginning in nineteen twenty and concluding in November nineteen thirty-six, after earlier parliamentary buildings were destroyed by fire.
