Iglesia Cristo Rey

The Iglesia Cristo Rey is recognizable by its striking, windowed cross that serves as a focal point near the entrance. As the first Catholic church built in Cancún, it began as a simple structure in nineteen seventy-one to serve the residents of the city as it grew into a major tourist destination. The building was designed by the renowned architect Pedro Ramírez Vázquez, whose other projects include the Estadio Azteca and the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City.
