Zandhoek

The Zandhoek is a stretch of waterfront on the eastern shore of Realeneiland that you can pick out by its row of tall, narrow brick houses facing the water. These buildings, many dating back to the seventeenth century, overlook a harbor that was once a commercial sand market where merchant ships purchased bags of sand for ballast before heading out to sea.
