Rose Garden

The Queenstown Gardens occupy a peninsula jutting into Lake Wakatipu, defined by a dense canopy of towering Douglas firs and heritage trees. Established in eighteen sixty-seven, this reserve was set aside by the first local council during the gold rush era to serve the future community. While the parkland features walking trails, a disc golf course, and memorials to early settlers and explorers, the formal rose garden sits near the center of the peninsula, just past the tennis courts.
