Eichardt's Bar

Eichardt’s Private Hotel sits directly on the Queenstown lakefront, identified by its classic, textured stonework and a prime position overlooking Lake Wakatipu. What is now a luxury destination began in eighteen fifty-nine as a simple woolshed built by William Gilbert Rees. When gold was discovered nearby in eighteen sixty-two, Rees converted the woolshed into a hotel to serve the sudden influx of prospectors.
