Steamer Wharf

Steamer Wharf is recognizable by the classic, black-hulled steamship TSS Earnslaw tied to its edge, a vessel that has docked here for over a century. The precinct consists of a row of buildings housing bars and restaurants that hug the shoreline of Lake Wakatipu. Originally, the site was a private jetty built in eighteen sixty-three by Robertson and Company to handle timber and primary goods during the Otago gold rush.
