Wenchang Palace sits on the slopes of Lion Hill, overlooking the sprawling blue-tiled rooftops of Lijiang Old Town. You can identify this site by its elevated position, which offers a wide, unobstructed view of the ancient city layout below. Originally established in seventeen twenty-five during the Qing Dynasty, the complex was later moved to this prominent hillside location in eighteen thirty-one.
