Fencer Fountain

The Fencer Fountain stands in the middle of University Square, defined by a bronze statue of a young, nude man holding a curved fencing sabre atop a marble base. Designed by sculptor Hugo Lederer and unveiled on November twenty-sixth, nineteen oh four, the fountain incorporates sculptural figures and decorative masks within its pedestal. It remains positioned directly before the historic building of the University of Wrocław, creating a contrast between the classical bronze figure and the surrounding Baroque architecture.
