Parish of the Most Holy Name of Jesus

The Church of the Most Holy Name of Jesus sits at the edge of the Old Town, its unassuming exterior disguising a massive Baroque interior. Built by the Jesuits between sixteen eighty-nine and sixteen ninety-eight, the structure occupies the site of a former imperial castle of the Piast dynasty. If you enter the northern sacristy, you can still find remnants of those thirteenth-century fortress walls buried directly beneath the church.
