The Book Lounge occupies a corner building at the intersection of Roeland and Buitenkant Streets in Cape Town’s East City Precinct. Mervyn Sloman opened the bookstore on December first, two thousand seven, after a short two-month renovation of what was then an empty office space. The store is identifiable by its double-storey height and the coffee bar located in its basement, which features plush armchairs for customers.
