Western Cape Provincial Parliament

The Western Cape Provincial Parliament at number seven Wale Street is distinguished by its history as a purpose-built legislature for the province. Unlike the older national parliamentary complex nearby, construction of this building began in nineteen thirty-nine, and officials first moved into the space in nineteen forty-four. It is the only provincial legislature in South Africa that carries the title of Parliament, and its elected representatives are formally known as Members of Provincial Parliament.
