Büyük Yeni Han is identified by its long, three-story facade of alternating light and dark stone, situated on the steep slope of Çakmakçılar Yokuşu. Completed in seventeen sixty-four by order of Sultan Mustafa the Third, this merchant inn is the second-largest of its kind in the city. It was designed by the architect Mehmet Tahir Ağa to provide workspace and storage for the moneychangers, artisans, and traders who formed the commercial core of the Ottoman capital near the Grand Bazaar.
