Circus Lane

Circus Lane is a narrow, cobbled mews that follows a distinct gentle curve, framed by terraced houses and the distant spire of St Stephen’s Church. Built in the early nineteenth century, the lane served as the service quarter for the grand Georgian homes of the nearby Royal Circus. While the wealthy elite occupied those expansive manors, their coachmen, stable hands, and carriage horses were housed here in the practical, compact buildings that line the path.
