St. Stephen and the Incarnation Episcopal Church

St. Stephen and the Incarnation Episcopal Church is a brick building in the Columbia Heights neighborhood, defined by a design completed in nineteen twenty-nine. It emerged from the merger of two earlier congregations, St. Stephen’s and the Church of the Incarnation, to serve the local population. Since the mid-twentieth century, the parish has operated as a site for social and political activism, often diverging from conventional institutional roles.
