Mt. Pleasant Neighborhood Library

The Mount Pleasant Neighborhood Library is recognizable by its grand, Italian Renaissance-style façade made of Indiana limestone. It stands at the corner of Lamont and Sixteenth Streets Northwest, where it was formally opened to the public in May nineteen twenty-five. The building was designed by the architect Edward Lippincott Tilton and was the third and final branch library in the District of Columbia to be funded by the Carnegie Corporation.
