The Pérez Art Museum Miami is defined by its massive, overhanging wooden canopy and lush, vertical gardens that drape from the building’s exterior. Designed by the Swiss firm Herzog and de Meuron and opened in two thousand thirteen, the structure sits on an elevated platform that rises above the park, a design inspired by the wooden houses of Stiltsville that stand on pilings in Biscayne Bay.
