John Seybold, a German immigrant who settled in Miami, originally constructed the first three levels in nineteen twenty-one to house his own bakery and confectionery business. By nineteen twenty-five, he expanded the structure into a ten-story arcade, which for years hosted a mix of professionals including lawyers and doctors.
