Kapuāiwa Building

The Kapuāiwa Building is defined by its exterior walls of rusticated concrete blocks, which create a rough, textured surface across the two-story structure. Completed in eighteen eighty-four during the reign of King Kalākaua, the building was designed by architect George Lucas. It features a flat roof accented by a cornice and balustrade, while arched windows are set into the walls with keystones on the lower level and dripstones above.
