Washington Place

Washington Place is a two-and-a-half-story Greek Revival mansion defined by its exterior walls of coral stone, wooden upper framing, and wide verandas that wrap around the house. Built between eighteen forty-four and eighteen forty-seven by the merchant sea captain John Dominis, the residence stands behind a white iron fence and a row of tall palms at three hundred twenty South Beretania Street. In eighteen forty-eight, King Kamehameha the Third officially approved the name, chosen to honor the first president of the United States.
