The Bellagio Hotel and Casino sits behind an eight-and-a-half-acre man-made lake on the Las Vegas Strip. Its most recognizable feature is the choreographed water show of the Fountains of Bellagio, which performs on this lake and occupies the footprint where the Dunes Hotel golf course once rested. Opened on October fifteen, nineteen ninety-eight, the resort was conceived by casino owner Steve Wynn, who chose to theme the property after the village of Bellagio on Italy’s Lake Como.
